Wise Business Forms Acquires Phoenix Data Inc.

Wise Business Forms, Alpharetta, Georgia, announced yesterday that it has acquired Phoenix Data Forms, a print supplier based in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, that specializes in business forms and similar print products. The deal was affective as of April 30, 2024.

In a statement issued by Wise, the company said that the acquisition will provide former Phoenix Data customers with additional services, including prime and industrial labels, digital web-to-print programs for large clients, short-run digitally printed labels, personalized and customized labels, and mosaic designs for short- and long-run labels.

Wise Business Forms just recently announced the acquisition of Mini Data Forms, a print supplier of checks and other business forms based in Charlotte, North Carolina, back in March.

“Both of our recent acquisitions—Mini Data Inc. in March of this year and Phoenix Data Inc. in April — expand our forms business,” says Bill Prettyman, president and CEO of Wise Business Forms. “Many people might think this is strange since common wisdom is that the forms business is dying. But the reality is that many, many businesses still need traditional forms, and while labels is the fastest growing area of our business, forms remain the bulk of what we do.”

Prettyman added that Phoenix Data Inc. customers will still be able to enjoy the products they’ve been sourcing from Phoenix Data Inc. in the past, but with the added stability and broad range of print products that Wise offers, as well as its traditional and digital print label capabilities.

Former Phoenix Data Inc. president Larry Lovell will continue with Wise following the acquisition, though his position was not disclosed at this time.

Prettyman continued that Wise’s recent acquisition activity underscores its commitment to the print market, specifically the traditional supplier-distributor model, amidst continued consolidation in both the print and promotional products industries.

“Wise is a multi-generational family business with the third generation now in the business—we aren’t going anywhere,” Prettyman says. “These recent acquisitions reflect that. Wise has been committed to the distributor reseller marketplace for fifty-five years, and we will continue to serve this market in the future.”
